We missed the 2009 festivities since Zach was born a few days later, but we didn't miss the shirts. Despite not going, we each got our own so that we could reuse them for the 2010 shindig. They're almost florescent yellow, and they have the wrong year on them, so I decided they needed a little spicing up, courtesy of a great idea that my friend Nichole had.
I headed down to Walmart, got myself some Sharpie Pens (super fine-tipped permanent markers), downloaded some coloring pages off of the internet, and started tracing:

Let me just toot my own horn here for a minute. They are su-uu-uper cute. The boys liked them so much that we had to break apart many near fistfights over who got to have their shirt done next.
Jezho is jumping for joy about his "hot dog" shirt! And yes, I am totally aware of the fact that his hair is struggling. Speaking of struggling, you should have seen him at Walmart the other night when we got the pens. Crocs with socks, pants waiting for a flood, this waaaaay too big Disneyland shirt handing out of the bottom of his sweatshirt that is ripped at the neck (creating a mock v-neck), a too small sailor hat, and to top it off, a semi-poopy bum from an accident at Joann's (we're potty training). Nice. Anyway, just look at the shirt, will you?

Matt might not take his shirt off until we get to Dland in a few weeks. Z gets the Mad Hatter. "MUSSSTARD? Let's not be silly!"

I have been scolded a few times for not posting any recent pictures of Z, so here you go. Recent-ish:

If you knew any of my other kids at this age (particularly Matt), you'll know that I'm going to be in serious trouble if I don't label their baby pictures. My kids are most assuredly cut from the same cloth.
Anyway, Z is 5 months old now (sniff, sniff). His bag of tricks includes rolling over both ways and drooling up a storm. He still has to be attached to a parent at almost all times, so we call him our barnacle. He's sick right now, for the 2nd time in a month. Poor little man. Get your rest.

In other random news, I would like to tell you that if you have a plant in a pot that won't survive the winter, bring it into your basement mechanical room, put a light on a timer so that it gets some fake sunlight, and watch it bloom. In January. Weird!

Finally, one tip. I don't necessarily suggest you let you kids get doughnuts with purple frosting. It will, in fact, turn them into Violet Beauregard.

I totally thought I had seen that picture of baby Z before, then I realized, I probably seen a similar one of Matt.
I am amazed at your artistry on the t-shirts. You rock.
How's the fabric business going?
So cute!!! Disneyland is the BEST!!!
Ha! I'm loving the Lemony Snicket reference! I can't believe how big your kids are getting. I almost didn't recognize them.
You seriously made those shirts with Sharpee pens? Wow. I'm impressed.
Your little guys are so cute.
You did a great job!! That makes me feel so good that my idea helped you out! And on yellow shirts! I bet that was harder than white. I have the mater pic just like yours printed to do one for brock! You guys are going to look AWESOME! We have the same kind of shirts for cousins camp each year with Jess's family....hum....I never thought of that!
